Abstract

The term technology transfer has been vieweddifferent by different writers and researchers. One widerencompassing view is where Technology Transfer (TT) beginsduring the development of an innovation, continues through itsdissemination, and extends into its early implementation. Adistinction is also made between horizontal and vertical transfer.The paper mainly views technology transfer from verticalintegration and from a wider perspective that includes; Technologydevelopment, technology dissemination, and technology adoption.Technology transfer is one of the ingredients for the developmentof technological capabilities of enterprises. Most Samll andMedium Enterprises (SMEs) including those using rrenewableenergy and agro-processing technologies lack technologicalcapabilities and require effective technology transfer.
